About Us

Welcome to the Moose Voluntary Insurance Program! Thank you for choosing us as your trusted source in protecting your family, your health and your sense of community. Learn a little bit more about our history, our promise and our mission serving the insurance needs of Moose members.

The History of MooseVIP

The origins of the Moose organization date back to 1888 when founder Dr. Henry Wilson established the first Lodge in Louisville, Kentucky with the modest goal of offering men an opportunity to gather socially and care for each other’s needs while celebrating life.

Since then, it has been reinvented into an organization of compassionate men and women who set out to share their valuable service to communities and people in need including children, teens and seniors. Moose now represents over one million members spread over 1,500 communities across all 50 states and four Canadian provinces, plus Great Britain and Bermuda.

Because of their great service and commitment to helping others, we developed the Moose Voluntary Insurance Program(VIP). To show our appreciation to Moose members and their families, we offer a variety of health, life and property liability insurance to protect your needs and the needs of your loved ones – at affordable prices.

See How Your Dollars Fund Our Community

When you enroll in a MooseVIP benefit, you’ll be proud to know that your dollars are hard at work funding many great community programs and initiatives. With over 1,000,000 Moose members across the U.S., Canada, Great Britain and Bermuda, this organization contributes between $75 to $100 million worth of community service to projects such as Special Olympics softball, Moose International Texas Hold ‘Em Tournament and Back to Basics Campaign.

Your benefit contributions also support those in need such as The Mooseheart Child City & School. This childcare facility, located west of Chicago is a home for children and teens in need, from infancy through high school. In 1913, the Moose fraternal organization dedicated this residence for youth whose families were no longer able to care for them, due to varying circumstances. Child City & School provides children with a wholesome home-like environment and the best possible training and education so they have the skills needed for success later in life.

In addition to Mooseheart Child City & School, your funds help support Moosehaven Retirement Community in Orange Park, Florida. Since 1922, this community has been home to members of the Loyal Order of Moose and Women of the Moose. As a continuing care facility, Moosehaven offers independent living for seniors 65 years of age and older, and promotes an active lifestyle on a 72-acre campus full of amenities and services, including LifeCare Center which provides all levels of health care.
